Greystone Animal HospitalA 7-day vet clinic whose booking page tells anxious pet owners their appointment "is not fully booked" — right at the finish line.

Greystone has strong foundations — a 7-day schedule, two dedicated vets, high-value services like TPLO surgery, and an active blog — but I found the site leaking conversions at every stage of the funnel. My report identifies 10 critical issues, 10 high-confidence A/B tests, quick SEO wins, and a paid-ads strategy, delivered as a 90-day sprint plan.

What the numbers said
  • Scorecard: 10 site leaks · 10 CRO tests · 3 SEO quick wins · 3 ad channels
  • 7-day schedule, two dedicated vets, evenings until 8pm
  • 4.8 stars and 300+ Google Reviews — not surfaced above the fold
  • 10+ blog posts with no path to booking
  • Service pages should expand to 600–800 words with FAQ schema
  • Retargeting expected to be 3–5x cheaper per booking than cold traffic
  • Outcome promise: +30% appointment requests in 90 days
  • First fix (appointment copy + sticky mobile CTA) takes about 2 hours
The leaks, ranked by impact
  1. 01

    Appointment anxiety — killer copy

What's wrong. The booking page states "your appointment is not fully booked until you get a confirmation from us."

Why it matters. Pet owners are already stressed; this creates uncertainty at the finish line and makes people abandon the form.

Fix. Remove the warning; replace with "We'll confirm your spot within 2 hours!" (expected +15–25% form completions).

Anxiety reduction / reassurance at point of commitment
  2. 02

Zero social proof above the fold

What's wrong. No star rating, review count, or "500+ happy pets" in the first 3 seconds.

Why it matters. For a local vet, reviews are currency — and they're invisible on arrival.

Fix. Social proof strip under the hero: 4.8 stars · 300+ Google Reviews · Open 7 Days (expected +12–18% CTA click-through); plus a live Google Reviews widget.

    Social proof
  3. 03

    Generic hero wastes its moment

What's wrong. "We Treat Your Pets Like Family" is what every vet clinic says — no unique hook, no urgency, no local signal.

Why it matters. A visitor from Google can't tell in 5 seconds why Greystone over the next vet.

Fix. Differentiated hero with local/hours signal (7 days, evenings until 8pm) and dual CTA.

    Clarity / value proposition
  4. 04

    Single-CTA strategy misses mid-funnel visitors

What's wrong. The entire site pushes one action, "Request Appointment"; browsing first-timers aren't ready to book.

Why it matters. Warming prospects have no softer path and leave.

Fix. Add secondary CTA "Meet Our Vets →" alongside "Book Appointment" (expected +20% engagement from browsers).

    Funnel-stage matching / micro-conversions
  5. 05

Booking form has no service selector

What's wrong. No service dropdown, so the clinic can't triage, prioritise, or personalise follow-ups.

Why it matters. Zero data on which services are in highest demand.

Fix. Add "What do you need?" dropdown (Checkup / Dental / Surgery / Vaccination / Other) — expected +10% lead quality and data capture.

    Form design / lead qualification
  6. 06

No live chat or real-time booking

What's wrong. A 7-day clinic in 2026 with no chat widget or instant booking.

Why it matters. Mobile users want instant answers, not a form that might take hours to answer.

Fix. Sticky mobile bottom bar "Call Now · Book Appointment" (expected +30–50% mobile call conversions); consider chat / real-time booking.

    Mobile UX / response latency
  7. 07

Phone number inconsistency — SEO and trust damage

What's wrong. Meta descriptions still show the clinic's old phone number while the site displays the new one.

Why it matters. Google reads NAP inconsistency as a local-ranking negative, and it confuses new patients.

Fix. Fix across meta descriptions, Google Business Profile, and footer.

Trust / consistency (and local SEO)
  8. 08

High-value service pages are dangerously thin

What's wrong. TPLO Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and Dental Care — premium, high-intent pages — have minimal content: no FAQs, recovery timelines, or reassurance.

Why it matters. Anxious owners get no confidence; Google won't rank thin pages.

Fix. Add surgeon credentials, what to expect, recovery timeline, FAQ (expected +25–40% surgery enquiries); expand to 600–800 words with FAQ schema.

Trust / objection handling; content depth
  9. 09

    No urgency or seasonal triggers

What's wrong. It's May — peak tick and flea season in BC — with no banner, promotion, or seasonal nudge anywhere.

Why it matters. Free conversion fuel being left completely untapped.

Fix. Seasonal banner "Tick & Flea Season is Here — Book Your Prevention Appointment Today" (expected +8–15% bookings during season).

    Urgency / relevance
  10. 10

Blog traffic has no funnel path

What's wrong. An active blog with 10+ posts but no inline CTAs and no link to booking.

Why it matters. Organic visitors read and leave — traffic that earns nothing.

Fix. Mid-post and end-of-post CTA box "Is your pet due for a checkup? Book in 60 seconds →" (expected +15–20% blog conversions).

    Funnel continuity / CTA placement

Proposed engagement
  1. Phase 1

Month 1 — CRO quick wins: booking form fix, sticky mobile CTA, social proof, seasonal urgency banner

  2. Phase 2

Month 2 — SEO: phone-number (NAP) consistency, service-page content, local citations, FAQ schema

  3. Phase 3

Month 3 — Google Ads launch plus Meta retargeting

Bottom line from the report: Greystone has the team, the hours, and the services to dominate the Burnaby vet market — the conversion infrastructure just hasn't kept up.
